Linguadiary Account Deletion Guide

⚠️ Important: Deleting your account will permanently remove:

Your account and all associated data
All diary entries stored in the cloud
Sync settings and preferences

This action cannot be undone. Please export your data first if needed.

Deletion Methods

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

The fastest way to delete your account:

Open the Linguadiary app
Tap Settings (⚙️) in the top right
Scroll to the Account section
Tap "Delete Account"
Confirm by tapping "Delete My Account"

Your account and all data will be deleted immediately.

Method 2: Email Request

If you cannot access the app:

Email: support@linguadiary.com
Subject: Account Deletion Request
Include your registered email address
We will process within 48 hours

Dear Linguadiary Support,

I would like to request the deletion of my Linguadiary account.

Registered Email: [your-email@example.com]

I understand this action is permanent and all my data will be deleted.

Thank you.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:

Account Information: Email address, username, and authentication credentials
Diary Entries: All diary entries stored in the cloud (Supabase)
User Preferences: Theme settings, language preferences, and app configurations
Sync Data: All synchronized data across devices

Local Data

Please note that local data stored on your device will remain until you uninstall the app or clear the app's data from your device settings.

Before You Delete

We recommend taking the following steps before deleting your account:

1. Export Your Data

Open the app and go to Settings
Tap "Export Data"
Choose your preferred format (JSON, TXT, or PDF)
Save the exported file to your device or cloud storage

2. Cancel Any Subscriptions

If you have any active subscriptions, please cancel them through:

iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions
Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions

Processing Time

In-App Deletion: Immediate
Email Request: Within 48 hours

Data Retention Policy

After account deletion:

Your data is immediately removed from our active databases
Backup copies may be retained for up to 30 days for disaster recovery
After 30 days, all backups are permanently purged
Some anonymized analytics data may be retained for service improvement

Can I Reactivate My Account?

No. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you wish to use Linguadiary again, you will need to create a new account.
